South Florida Tea Party's mission is to attract, educate, organize and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government and free markets.   There are many things happening in government and in the society as a whole that we know are important, however we feel that South Florida Tea Party needs to only focus on issues regarding its core values and not address social issues.

The tea party movement started because of the Bank Bailouts and Stimulus Plan.  These unwanted and failed government programs have caused millions of Americans to question the fiscal responsibility and role of government from local to federal levels.   More importantly, the massive amount of unpaid & unsecured debt that will be be passed on to future generations has forced Americans to look in the mirror and ask themselves, "Is this the legacy we want to leave our grandchildren?"

Below is an actual Presidential Budget Forecast from the Congressional Budget Office - Read the actual report here

"S ince the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) last issued its baseline projections, in January 2009, the outlook for the budget deficit has deteriorated further. 1  Enactment of stimulus legislation and omnibus appropriations, a worsening of the economic outlook, and other factors have increased CBO’s projections of the deficit by more than $400 billion in both 2009 and 2010 and by smaller amounts thereafter. As a result, if current policies remain the same, CBO now anticipates that the deficit will total almost $1.7 trillion (11.9 percent of gross domestic product, or GDP) this year and $1.1 trillion (7.9 percent of GDP) next year, the largest deficits as a share of GDP since 1945 (see  Table 1-1 )."
