Utility regulators approve buck-a-month rate hike for FPL customers
The Florida Public Service Commission signed off on a $1.03 monthly rate increase for typical Florida Power & Light customers based on 1,000 a month kilowatt hours of usage.
The PSC earlier this month approved a $75 million rate hike for the state’s largest utility that serves about 4 million customers. That was just a sliver of the $1.2 billion rate increase - about $10 a month for residential customers - the Juno Beach-based power company had asked for.
